Some of my songs with my former band Waiting Room. All songs written by me except one. :)

Me in a nutshell.

My name's Ronnie and I make art, design, and teach. I love records and movies.

I was born in 1984, and I've been through two Tech Booms while growing up in SF as well as two punk movements. Now I live in Seattle, and I enjoy cooking at home, listening to old records, watching movies, and hanging out with my cat Vinnie. I live downtown, but I like to retreat to nature and hike.

The bigger picture.

I make paintings, design neat stuff, draw, and I am a huge music fan and play music too. I design beautiful things, and I enjoy painting and playing instruments. Sometimes I write songs. I also teach K-12 art classes, and I love children and their ability to create! When I am not designing and teaching, I am hiking and doing yoga. I love the beach because it reminds me of home.

When I was young, the first thing I ever wanted to become was an opera singer! I am now happy to be a designer and teacher, although I still like Opera and singing. Lately, I've been very into the film and life of Alejandro Jodorowsky. Jodorowsky is a Russian Jew who grew up in Chile, and is also an avid tarot card seeker.

Graphic Design is the struggle for beauty in every day life. I have been happy to have the opportunity to make small every day items better looking to the eye, and to meet some wonderful people too. Design helps me grow as an individual and gives me hope for the future.

Art and design are in everything. It has been said that if you can design one thing, you can design everything. I've been working on some new pieces revolving more around Mother Earth and nature, but here are some of my favorite pieces that I have done over the years.

Growing up, my Dad had a darkroom in our basement. He has been a huge inspiration to me, and through him I learned a lot about composition and lighting. He spent whole days in the darkroom, perfecting his art.

Today the world is digital, so it is neat to be able to take photos on a variety of devices, from my Canon E40, to my Iphone 5, to my old android. Some of my favorite things to take photos of are people, animails, nature, and events. I still love film, but recently had to get rid of my film camera because it was broken. I look forward to getting a new one!

A funky side trip about me: I am a big fan of tarot cards and occult symbology and divination. As an artist and designer, I think that symbology and the unknown, is very important to trying to understand the fundamentals of the world.

Freelance graphic design, production art, photography, styling, digital illustration, mixed media art, murals and all things creative for a variety of clients. Interned at Tea Collection supporting the Brand Creative team by creating marketing collateral. Also layed down the foundation for an in-house design lab within the Office of Student Life at my Alma Matter, CCA.

What learned at school

I learned everything I know from some amazing designers when I attended school at California College of the Arts.

As a designer and artist, it's been difficult for me to figure out where I fit in. I was blessed to have some amazing teachers and classmates to give me feedback, and I continue to be eager to grow and learn in my career and as an artist and teacher. Lately, I am just grateful to be designing at all, and to have this computer, and a Wacom pad to play with.
